Is stem cell doping legal in USA? - Farfarawayyy - 09-29-2011 01:42 AM
I'm not sure if this is a theoretical question. I read the articles on stem cell doping and it seems like it's forbidden. Or is it just the case in professional sports or Olympics?

It's not illegal. If you are not participating in competitions nobody cares. In official competitions it will probably be considered as doping, which it is.

Stem cells as such are not illegal substances (scheduled, listed). I'm not a lawyer but I never heard about listing stem cells as scheduled substances. So basically you can use them as you wish. There might be some additional guidelines for medical professionals. So I'm not sure if a doctor can give you a stem cell treatment (probably injecting them in your blood) legally. But again - I never heard this is illegal.

I'm not that naive. I know nobody cares in bodybuilding. But I want to know if it's permitted or not.
