Does someone know if prohormones cause the same level of testosterone inhibition as anabolic steroids? Thanks.
Mostly they don't. The main reason is that prohormones have usually just a marginal effect in everything, including side-effects.
You must also specify with which steroids do you compare your prohormones. Eg Deca durabolin will cause very serious testo inhibition while Oxandrolone almost none.
I agree with BigRick. Prohormones are a loss of time, trust me.

If so, why are they illegal in the first place?

And why are steroids illegal? I do understand why Halotestin or even Deca are scheduled. But Oxandrolone or Boldenone? AAS and prohormones are scheduled substances because some stupid senators wanted to show some naive parents they fight the "horrible" drug problem...
DEA and FDA were both against this stupid listing of AAS as narcotics.
